Long Island Men’s

Our Long Island Adult & Teen Challenge Men’s Center is a 12-month residential discipleship program dedicated to providing hope, healing, and a future for men struggling with addiction and other life-controlling issues. We serve men ages 18 and older, walking alongside them on their journey toward lasting freedom and restoration.

The Long Island Men’s Home is located at 309 Old Farmingdale Rd., West Babylon, NY 11704. The facility includes 12 beds for residents, 6 beds for apprentices, and 2 beds for live-in staff, allowing us to provide a structured, supportive, and home-like environment focused on transformation and growth.
Men who enter the program receive a holistic approach to recovery that addresses spiritual, emotional, relational, and practical needs. The program emphasizes the development of a new value system—one that honors God, strengthens families, fosters personal responsibility, builds a strong work ethic, and equips men to become healthy, productive members of their communities.

Residents participate in daily biblical studies, regular church services, chapel services, vocational training, mentoring, and leadership development. Each resident’s progress is carefully guided, with individualized aftercare planning to support long-term success. Apprenticeship opportunities are available for those continuing their growth beyond the residential phase
Licensed counselors provide weekly individual and group counseling sessions, helping residents address mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges while supporting their recovery journey.
At Long Island Adult & Teen Challenge, we are committed to demonstrating how valuable each resident is to God by maintaining a clean, well-furnished, and welcoming environment where men can experience God’s saving grace, redeeming love, and transforming power.

Executive Leadership: Rashad Hamdan

Rashad Hamdan serves on the Executive Leadership Team at New York Adult & Teen Challenge. He is a graduate of Long Island Adult & Teen Challenge and has been part of Adult & Teen Challenge since 2015. His journey began when he walked through the doors as a resident in the program. At that time, his life had fallen apart—he had lost everything due to heroin addiction.

When all hope seemed lost and his relationships with his family were broken, Adult & Teen Challenge welcomed him with open arms. He arrived at the center that day with nothing to his name but the clothes on his back.

It was there that Rashad was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ, and his life was forever changed. Through the discipleship process of Adult & Teen Challenge, he realized that God had placed a call on his life to share the gospel with others struggling with addiction. After completing the program, he stayed on as an apprentice, eventually joined the staff, attended the New York Ministry Network School of Ministry, married his beautiful wife, Katherine, in 2019, and is now the proud father of two young sons, Jaxon and Carter.

Rashad shares, “What an honor it is to fulfill the call God has given me—to come alongside men who are currently struggling with addiction and show them the hope we all have in Jesus. Looking back on my wayward years before I knew the Lord, I never thought I had a future. I thank God daily for the ‘new creation’ I am and for the new life He has given me.”

Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
