I didn’t know who I was. And who I was becoming was something that I didn’t like.
Hi, my name is Michael, I’m 25 years old. And I came to Teen Challenge because I didn’t really know where I was going, I found myself in a position where I didn’t know who I was. And who I was becoming was something that I didn’t like. And I put a face, a mask on myself to show others that I was okay, that the person they saw was going to succeed. But ultimately, I couldn’t adjust, I couldn’t succeed in life because of my own fear of a missing identity. I had no clue what I was doing, and I was trying to do it all myself without asking for help. But God uses people and He used people in my life to bring me back to Him and I thank Him for that. I decided to come to Teen Challenge because I wanted to refine myself, I wanted to bring a life back in me that I had lost, and God sent me here. God sent me here. And I’m very grateful because what I’ve learned here is more than I had learned over time of years. And but I do know that he’s given me gifts and talents to use for His glory. I have a voice to sing, I have a voice to speak and I’m going to use them. I’m going to use the voice that I have for His glory.
And the scripture I stand on is Romans 8:28. “All things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”
